SHIP Grant Activities

About:

SHIP (Statewide Health Improvement Program) works with PHA residents, staff and community partners to support a culture of healthy living at PHA. Our focus is on healthy eating, physical activity and tobacco reduction. SHIP wants you, your families, your friends, your neighbors, and your community to thrive and feel better. Check out the healthy happenings at PHA and resources in your community.

Twin Cities Mobile Market - It’s a grocery store on a bus with healthy, affordable food.

 

·         Pay with: Cash, All Major Credit Cards, Debit Cards, SNAP/EBT


·         The Mobile Market has 7 weekly stops at PHA sites. You can view the scheule here.

       $1 Market Bucks available! For every $1 spent with your SNAP/EBT card you earn $1 up to $10 per day to use on your next purchase. Market Bucks are available on the Twin Cities Mobile Market and several Saint Paul Farmers Market locations.

Saint Paul Farmers’ Market

Buy fresh, locally grown produce, baked goods, cheese, locally raised meat, honey, flowers, plants and more. http://www.stpaulfarmersmarket.com/

     Check website for complete schedule and locations of all the Saint Paul Farmers Markets. SNAP/EBT is accepted by some vendors. 

Downtown Market on 5th & Wall: Saturdays 6am-1pm & Sundays 8am-1pm April 30-November 20 (the Green Line stops next to the Downtown Market)

7th Place Mall Market:  Tuesdays & Thursdays  June 14 – October 13

    Up to $10 in Market Bucks are available for fruit and vegetables purchased with SNAP/EBT. Look for the EBT Booth at the market.

Walking Groups

Join an existing walking group or start a walking group in your building. Contact Betsy, PHA SHIP Program at 651-298-4030 for support and materials. Shirts, water bottles and pedometers are available for walking groups through SHIP.

Lime Bikes 

Lime Bikes (And scooters) are the new dockless rental bikes you may have seen around the city. No membership is needed to use these bikes. You just download the app and then pay per use of a bike or scooter.
